We had an extremely productive (and fun) meeting with our interior designer, Lisa, on Tuesday. We picked out a few different color schemes for the flooring, changed the ideas on the patterns, and finished it all off with selections on the colors for the walls. All in all I am very confident that it is going to look GREAT! We should get some "3D" drawings soon.
We are still waiting on the permits from the city. Super lucky will be if they show up this coming week.
I spent about 8 hours (or more because I ended up dreaming about it as well) figuring out the "computer network" cabling for the clinic. I'm glad I did that now because it made me really think about what is going to go where and what needs to get purchased ahead of time. I'm sure they'll be some things that we forget and have to scramble to buy at the last minute, but hopefully that will be a rare event! Anyway, we need to hire a company to do the wiring.

Yowza
Things are getting really crazy. We had been waiting for the final draft of the floor plan to get emailed to us, only to find out it's already been submitted to the city! Ooooooo-K. The changes weren't in any way major, an extra outlet here, an extra light switch there, add a ceiling light here and here..., so I guess it's no big deal. So if the city is not too busy and has no problems with the plans we could get approved in just a few weeks, or it could take as long as a full month depending on their work load and "issues".
We have also picked and signed up for an EMR (electronic medical record) that is "cloud" based. I remember back in the good ol' days when it was called "the internet". Anyway, we are excited about that because we can actually use their scheduling tools to, you know, schedule patients! Extra bonus, they are giving us a free iPad for signing up. No, you can't have it.
We also have received our first batch of business cards (with our new clinic phone numbers), our "business" sized checks (in a big fake leather binder), and Jan's first clinic lab coat (it's blue).
Exciting stuff! More later.

Initial Design
We received the first draft of the floor plans (electrical, flooring, plumbing, etc.,) this evening and we only had a few changes and comments. I would think that they could incorporate the changes in just a few hours, so we could have the final plans approved on Friday the 12th or possibly Monday the 15th at the latest!
Very exciting!
Update 9/17/14: Well, I completely underestimated the time it would take to make the changes. I guess they have other customers besides us! :)

Signed!
We have a signed lease for our clinic space! It was a rough go of it for a while, but we finally came to an agreement.
We have the corner (facing you) on the second story, from the little round window on the left side to the little round window on the right side. It's about 2,584 sf.
Now comes the "build out" of the interior, that is, after the design is finalized and the permits from the city come in.
